we've learned to bend when the wind blows

i've learned that it's just as important to be a friend to yourself sometimes

just as, if not more, important to be the person the friend that tells you when to stop

the friend that tells you when you've gone too far

when you're out of line

to be the angel on your shoulder rather than the demon

the voice that goes "turn around, just walk away"

because walking away is sometimes the best thing you can do for someone else too
